With the YOUN-I 3.0, ABUS – safety experts for mobile security – presents the updated version of its proven city helmet. The versatile helmet bridges the gap between youth and adult helmet, and is aimed specifically at young people and adults of all ages. But active kids will also find their favourite thanks to the slim fit and the wide variety of designs. The key new features include a significantly improved rear light, the magnetic FIDLOCK buckle, and the new Zoom™ Spin FLEX adjustment system.
With the YOUN-I 3.0, ABUS deliberately embraces an expressive design language. The open, lightweight design with 16 ventilation openings gives the helmet a modern, urban look while ensuring comfortable wear. The variety of designs is particularly striking: With the Candid Range, ABUS offers a bold, vibrant color palette that makes a confident statement. In contrast, the Powder Range, with its soft, pastel shades, creates a subtle, elegant look. These two design lines are complemented by eight additional color options.
Rechargeable rear light for greater visibility
Great emphasis has been placed on improved safety through visibility with the YOUN-I 3.0. The rechargeable rear light is now positioned centrally on the helmet to ensure better visibility. Four lighting modes – Steady, Power, Pulse, and Flash – adapt flexibly to the respective situation. The light is charged conveniently via the USB-C interface, and the battery is also replaceable, meaning the light remains reliably operational even after years of use. The IP44 protection rating reliably guards against splash water, so you can ride safely even in the rain.
Comfort in detail: FIDLOCK buckle and Zoom™ Spin FLEX adjustment system
ABUS has also made significant improvements to the YOUN-I 3.0 in terms of operating comfort. The straps are equipped with a high-quality, magnetic FIDLOCK buckle that can be securely fastened and released with one hand – even with gloves. The new Zoom™ Spin adjustment system with an adjustment wheel at the back of the head allows precise, individual adjustment to head circumference. An outlet in the height-adjustable system also ensures that the helmet is ideally suited for long hairstyles such as a ponytail, bun, or braids. The Flap Divider™ distributes the straps below the ears with a clip closure for secure positioning. Soft, heat-sealed comfort pads ensure pleasant wearing comfort and are removable as well as hand washable. A bug mesh reliably keeps flies and the like at bay without impairing ventilation.
Three versions for different needs
The YOUN-I 3.0 is available in three versions: the entry-level model YOUN-I 3.0 is available as a kids' and urban helmet in sizes S (48–54 cm) and M (52–57 cm). The YOUN-I 3.0 MIPS additionally features the MIPS safety system, which counteracts rotational forces in the event of a fall – and is also available in S and M. The YOUN-I 3.0 ACE is aimed at adults and comes in sizes M and L (56–60 cm). It is equipped with a removable visor that provides protection against sun and low-lying light.
