ABUS Taipan. New designs for your next off-the-map adventure.

Gravel means freedom, individuality and the desire to discover new paths. In keeping with this, ABUS is expanding the colour range of the Taipan gravel helmet with the new off-white, lunar-silver and all-in-purple looks. The neon-yellow version is aimed at those who wish maximum visibility, whilst pure-white, with its minimalist aesthetic, appeals to the style-conscious gravel community. For everyone who rides their own path – on gravel and beyond.
With the TAIPAN, ABUS presents its first specially developed gravel helmet. The name is inspired by the adaptable and resilient Taipan snake and symbolises the versatility of gravel cycling. During development, the first question that arose was what actually distinguishes a gravel helmet from a classic road bike helmet. To find answers, ABUS developers, together with experienced gravel riders and professionals, collected valuable practical experiences during numerous test rides under a wide variety of conditions.
The conclusion: a modern gravel helmet must combine the advantages of a road helmet – such as low weight, good aerodynamics and high ventilation – with additional comfort, increased safety and better visibility. The development was supported, among others, by German gravel pro Paul Voss, who embodies both the sporting and adventure-oriented nature of gravel cycling.
ABUS paid particular attention to comfort. As a further development of the successful ABUS Road Fit, the inner shape of the Taipan has been subtly widened to create space for an approx. 5 mm thick, floating inner padding. The result: noticeably greater comfort on long distances, rough trails and during demanding races.
In terms of safety, the helmet features a large ActiCage, which reinforces the upper and front sections of the helmet and offers additional stability whilst maintaining low weight and optimal ventilation.
Another key feature is visibility. The TAIPAN has dedicated mounting areas for front lights as well as integrated cable routing channels. It also features a magnetic mount for an ABUS rear light.
With this combination of performance, comfort, safety and lighting solutions, the TAIPAN is aimed at the entire gravel community – from bikepackers and adventure riders to ambitious racers.
Manufactured in Italy, the Taipan is available in five new colours in sizes S, M & L.
