With the SMILEY 3.0 FL.ACE LED, ABUS –expert for mobile security – expands its successful kids helmet family with a new premium model. The latest version of this beloved classic impresses with a comfortable FIDLOCK magnetic buckle and a removable LED rear light with a rechargeable battery. This makes it the ideal companion for children's first mobility experiences – from the first time sitting in a bicycle seat or kids trailer, through early attempts on a balance bike, right through to independent cycling.
Premium comfort through FIDLOCK magnetic buckle
A highlight of the SMILEY 3.0 FL.ACE LED is the high-quality FIDLOCK magnetic buckle on the chin strap. It can be opened and closed with one hand – even with gloves – and prevents the accidental pinching of sensitive children's skin. Particularly in the hectic family routine, when every second counts, the magnetic buckle provides a significantly convenience when putting on and taking off the helmet.
Visibility thanks to the LED rear battery light
For greater visibility at dusk and in darkness, the SMILEY 3.0 FL.ACE LED features a removable LED rear light with a rechargeable battery. Three lighting modes are available: Steady for a continuously illuminated light, Power for brighter continuous illumination, and Flash for brightly flashing light. Depending on weather conditions and usage, the light operates for at least 2.5 hours in continuous mode and at least 6 hours in flash mode. The battery is recharged via the USB-C port in approximately one hour.
A well-considered standard of safety and comfort
Like all models in the SMILEY 3.0 family, the FL.ACE LED also impresses with its child-appropriate helmet shape featuring a flattened rear. This enables a natural head position, provides greater comfort when leaning back in a bicycle trailer or child seat, and relieves the neck. The Zoom™ Spin adjustment system with an adjustment wheel at the back of the head fits the helmet precisely to the head circumference; the Flap Divider™ allows individual adjustment of the straps below the ears and ensures an individually optimised fit. A clever opening in the adjustment system makes room for a ponytail and makes the SMILEY suitable for kids with long hairstyles.
Soft, Velcro-attached comfort pads provide a pleasant wearing comfort. They can be removed, hand washed, and replaced if necessary. An integrated bug mesh keeps insects away from the head without impairing the helmet's ventilation. Reflective stickers additionally increase visibility in poor lighting conditions.
Three versions for every requirement
Within the SMILEY 3.0 family, three versions are available: the new SMILEY 3.0 FL.ACE LED sits at the top – the premium helmet of the series – and combines the FIDLOCK magnetic buckle, LED rear light with rechargeable battery, and lower edge protection. The SMILEY 3.0 LED adds a clip-on LED rear light with battery power. The entry-level model SMILEY 3.0 covers the basic specification with all essential safety and comfort features.
The SMILEY 3.0 FL.ACE LED is available from specialist retailers in two design lines: the black EPS Range offers the colours forest green, coffee brown, and signal yellow. The Pure Range includes the verdions pure beige, pure pistachio, pure bluestars, and pure rosestars. All models are available in sizes S (45–50 cm) and M (50–55 cm).
