ABUS, the expert for mobile security, is expanding the YARNIT™ range into a product family. What began with the YARNIT™ 4004K as an innovative chain lock in a trendy knitted look is now being expanded with two new additions: the YARNIT™ 4004C combination lock and the YARNIT™ Adaptor Chain. ABUS is thus offering design-conscious cyclists a comprehensive range of textile locks for the first time – lightweight, quiet, gentle on paintwork and featuring the distinctive look of high-quality knitwear.

The YARNIT™ family is aimed at design-conscious cyclists of all ages – particularly urban cyclists who, in addition to functionality, also place great value on aesthetics, feel and ease of use.
Technically sophisticated – the innovation of the YARNIT™ range
ABUS has created a sophisticated security system with a total diameter of 24 mm through an innovative combination of different materials in multiple layers: at its core is a hardened steel chain. The middle layer is a hybrid construction of textile fibres and embedded steel cable. The outer shell is a high-tech fibre woven in various colour shades, creating a strong and aesthetically pleasing woven structure. Thanks to this complex design, the weight is reduced compared to conventional chain locks. The soft, textile surface protects the bike frame from scratches, prevents annoying rattling during transport and gives the locks a distinctive look. Whether in a bag, a backpack or wrapped directly around the frame.
YARNIT™ 4004K – the classic textile lock with a key
The YARNIT™ 4004K features a classic lock cylinder. Thanks to automatic locking in the pick-proof cylinder, securing the bike takes just seconds. The comfortable feel enhances the lock’s ease of use and suitability for everyday life. The soft, textile feel is retained even for year-round outdoor use – it is weatherproof and durable. The YARNIT™ 4004K is available from specialist retailers in three lengths: 85 cm, 110 cm and 140 cm. The 110 cm length is available in four fashionable colours: Black, Denim Blue, Sand Stone and Midnight Purple.
YARNIT™ 4004C – keyless security with a numerical code
The new YARNIT™ 4004C combines urban design with keyless convenience, making locking up super easy. This is made possible by the individually adjustable, four-digit numerical code that can be reset at any time – completely keyless and ideal for sharing with family or friends. For long-lasting reliability, the numbers are firmly integrated into the material and remain clearly legible throughout the product’s lifetime – no fading, no guesswork.
Adaptor Chain YARNIT™ – the textile accessory for the frame lock
With the Adaptor Chain YARNIT™, ABUS brings the knitted look to a connecting chain for the first time. This cleverly combined textile security accessory brings the lighter weight and rattle-free transport of the YARNIT™ family to the flexible extension of frame locks. It can be conveniently inserted into standard ABUS frame locks as well as the ABUS Alarmbox 2.0, enabling flexible securing to fixed objects such as lampposts or bike racks. The loop ring ensures particularly easy handling: it allows the chain to be threaded through effortlessly and reliably protects the bike from paint damage. No additional key is required – the bolt is simply inserted into the frame lock and locked with the existing key. The round 360° steel bolt is also convenient, locking reliably from any position – for greater ease when locking up, even in the dark.
