Compact design for everyday use

The BORDO™ 5800K is the folding lock for cyclists looking for a lightweight and space-saving lock without compromising on protection and convenience. The mini format with its small packing size can be easily folded after your ride and disappears discreetly into a bag, backpack or directly onto the frame. Despite its compact design, it offers a locking circumference of 80 centimetres, providing enough scope for securing the bike to lampposts, railings or bike racks. The BORDO™ 5800K is suitable as a lock for reliable protection against low to medium theft risk – ideal for short stops and the daily commute to work or for shopping.

Special steel and sophisticated design

BORDO is the name given to the folding lock design developed by ABUS, which combines high security and flexibility with compact dimensions. This combination is made possible by the joint construction, which allows the lock to be folded up like a folding rule. The bars are made from special hardened steel, offering resistance to break attempts. Robust special rivets increase the stability at every joint and reinforce the overall construction. A coating on the steel bars reliably protects the bike frame from scratches.

Convenient locking with automatic locking mechanism

Locking the BORDO™ 5800K is particularly quick and convenient: thanks to the automatic locking mechanism, simply inserting the bolt into the lock body is enough: the lock locks itself – without any additional action and without a key. The lock body, which can be rotated 360 degrees, makes securing the bike even easier, as it can be flexibly aligned in any position. An integrated anti-picking cylinder provides effective protection against picking attempts.

Included mount for any frame geometry

An SH mount is included with the BORDO™ 5800K for transport on the bike. It is conveniently mounted by using a strap or directly on the bottle cage and allows the lock to be removed from the front – for quick access whilst taking up minimal space on the frame. The low-set mounting holes are particularly practical: they allow installation even on small bike frames and where the bottle cage mounts are close to the bottom bracket. This means the lock can be carried directly on the bike without rattling and is always ready to hand.

The BORDO™ 5800K stands for tested quality and security ‘Made in Germany’ – developed, manufactured and produced in Germany. In intensive tests, the lock was checked, among other things, for its resistance to weather and cold.
